Short description of the proposed topic
The transition towards a new-type power system has driven significant advancements in renewable energy technologies and the integration of various new entities into power systems, including energy storage, and advanced load management. This shift calls for a reimagining of how to collaboratively operate and plan those source-network-load-storage resources. The rise of distributed energy resources, virtual power plants, and innovative storage solutions presents unique challenges in coordination, reliability, and optimization. Addressing these challenges requires the development of advanced modeling techniques, and operational and planning strategies to unlock system-wide flexibility, enhance resilience, and facilitate the large-scale adoption of renewable energy in new-type power systems. For this reason, this topic intends to provide a platform to share the latest findings on this subject (either research or review articles).

About the organizers

Chenhui Lin, Associate Research Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University. He was selected for the Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program by the China Association for Science and Technology. His main research interests include transmission-distribution-microgrid coordinated control and the application of artificial intelligence in power systems. He serves as the Technical Program Chair of the IEEE Energy Internet Coordinating Committee, Secretary of the IEEE P2048.501 Working Group, and a member of the Active Distribution Network and Distributed Generation Professional Committee of the China Electrotechnical Society, as well as an editorial board member of multiple journals. He has published 70 academic papers and received multiple paper awards, including the Excellent Scientific Paper Award of the China Association for Science and Technology and the F5000 Leading Paper Award. He has presided over a project under the National Science and Technology Major Project and has received multiple awards, including the First Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award (2/15) and the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the China Electrotechnical Society (1/10). |
